Ever since the commercials started playing for the Peanut Festival Layla has been begging to go back. We went last year and I guess she had so much fun that she HAD to go back this year. We ended up going last night and had a really good time.
The whole ride out to Dothan she asked every 3 minutes if we were almost there.
FINALLY after driving forever we made it. Of course because we are nice parents we said "ok never mind, we're going home" when the lane we took into the parking area pointed us away from the fair. She wasn't happy with that.
Lets just say she was more than ready to go in once we actually parked :)
First stop...our admission tickets.
She CAN'T wait
And she was pretty excited about getting a special bracelet :P
Finally we made it in :)
We passed by the Kiddieland area first and Layla decided to wait on those rides until the way out so she can see what else there was. She found her favorite thing...the fun houses!
She totally ran into a one of the windows and I missed it taking this picture...
Darn it!
They made it to the top and spent some time looking in the mirrors...
And then it happened. Layla realized HOW she was supposed to get back DOWN to the bottom. And she wasn't happy. Finally T just went down with her while she screamed :)
hehehe
On to the next, slide free, fun house
Ooo birds

The guy running it had to show Layla how to walk through. She thought she was going to get stuck and go around and around :P
After they got out one of the game booths finally got Thomas to stop and play. Just a free ball. Just to try ;)
And finally after a couple "free tries" we could have paid $5 to get any prize. And then carry it around all night. NO thanks :)
After escaping the games Layla found the race cars. She rode them last year and was SO scared when she got off. She remembered how fast they went but was determined to get on them again this year. And she picked the yellow car. AND she screamed when it took off and went around the corners.
Look at this face! I almost felt bad for her.
It cracks me up every time I look at it :P
She was scuuurrreed! But when it was all over she was SO proud that she went on it! And we were proud too :)
Then we were hounded by more game guys

Oh man this made me miss Swirl. Even if it was across the island and I only went there a few times. Yum yum yum!
Finally on the way out we stopped at the Layla sized rides to use up the rest of our tickets. 'Dumbo' was first.
She was having SO much fun!
We were too. It was a really good family day.

With her last bunch of tickets she chose the bumper cars
Once she figured out how to make it go she was having fun

We also walked through the exibition hall and looked at the photography. Some of them were really amazing. And some I think I could do better. I will for sure look into entering some of my photos next year.
Finally on the way out we were lucky enough to catch some of the Star Family Circus! This was nuts. He was up on this circle that was swinging around and around
And then he got on top while it was swinging and tried to jumprope. He almost fell.
After his was miss Kelsey the hoola hoop girl
And the grand finale was the anouncer chick standing in a cage while 2 guys on motorcycles rode around her
Ta-da!
And that was it. We were cold and hungry and ready to meet friends for dinner. We had a blast and cant wait for next year.

Halloweeeeeen! Finally.
I'm finally getting around to posting Halloween pictures. Thomas told me people are going to give up on my blog because I don't post enough. I think he's right. I'm trying...but I'm lazy.
So anyway, Saturday morning we got up and got ready for the trick or treating over at the Westgate Shopping Center.
We ended up meeting our friends there which made it even more fun. After the first couple of stores Layla was all into and asking for candy from strangers.
She had so much fun and ended up with a bucket full of candy
And look! Miss Melissa got a camera. A Nikon :)
After finishing up there Thomas has to play the never ending game of "Lets see if I can make Layla scream" and told her he was going to eat her candy :P
Thankfully I don't think she took him too serious that time. She threw a fit later though when he did the same thing. When we got home he did teach her how to dump her candy on the floor to dig through and see what all she got.
From there we sent Thomo on his way to some race and we headed back to the shopping center where the theater was playing a free movie. Monsters vs Aliens. It was really funny :) After the movie Layla and I went home for some lunch and then headed over to Melissa's to play before going trick or treating...again.
I tried to teach her some camera stuff. She has the D40 which is what I had before so I was trying to remember what all it did. I'm not so patient with teaching, ask my mom, but I don't think I was too bad.
She needs a big girl flash :P
The girls came downstairs at some point for a non candy snack.
hello fat cheeks! yuck.
We left Melissa's house a bit later and hit the neighborhood next to hers. The kids made out GOOD there! I didn't take pictures though. Go to www.wilkinsinenterprise.blogspot.com to see the few Melissa posted.
Here is Layla at the end of the night going through some of what she got in the evening :)

Outside Time.
A few days ago Layla asked if we could go play tee ball outside. It was a nice enough day so who am I to deny her some play time :) And it was either that or sit inside with her bugging me to go outside.
That ball used to be white. The dogs (REVO) took it outback for a few days and this is how I found it.
She has been watching her dad and Mr Rocky playing PS3 baseball a lot lately and is super into it. This is her yelling "THIRD" as she's running toward her base at the hose.
Not totally sure what this pointing is about but I love her hat
She's a nerd
Another shot from 'third base'...throwing the ball to home
This is probably my new favorite. I was telling her which way to go to get to the ball...I told her to move to her left and she took a huge leap forward. Laughing.
Here she told me she was a tee ball statue. Doesn't she look old??
She's pretty hard core. Playin like a pro
My attempt at a nice picture of Layla.
And then I saw the peanut butter in her hair from lunch. She did mention something about getting a bit in her hair or something...it's a lot more than a bit.
After I took a billion pictures of her we searched the yard for an orange mushroom that she thought she saw. We never found it. Then Thomo came back over from helping Mr Dennis and he played tee ball with Layla and ran around with her for a while before getting his bike out. Layla ran ALL over the yard chasing him on his bike before he decided to dig out the bike trailer to take her for a ride around the neighborhood. She was outside for 3 or more hours having fun. SO much better than a day cooped up inside. Even if I DID miss Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka on tv.
